Trading & Trust Guide

The Trading & Gifting update (August 28, 2026) added player trading to The House TD 2. This guide covers everything the developers confirmed in the official announcement — and the safety rules that keep your collection safe.

How player trading works

  • Find another player in the player list and send a trade request.
  • You can trade both units and items.
  • Every item trades ONCE: anything you receive is Trade Locked 🔒 to your account forever. Choose carefully — a traded unit can never be traded again by you.
  • Your first trade shows a quick guide in-game. You can reopen it any time from the (i) button.
  • Not into trading? You can turn the whole feature off in Settings.

Trust — the 5-game requirement

You cannot trade high-rarity units with a stranger on day one. Trading unlocks through Trust, built by playing and completing games together:

Completed games together Unlock
1 Rares
2 Epic
3 Legendary
4 Mythic
5 Secret + Forbidden

The developers originally planned Trust to build 1 per day (a 5-day calendar), but reversed the decision to feedback within hours of launch: completing any 5 games together now unlocks full trading. Each completed game raises your unlock tier by one, so the table above is the practical ladder — your fifth shared game is the one that opens Secret and Forbidden trades.

Gamepass gifting

  • Gift gamepasses and store products straight from the store: pick the product, choose Gift, and enter the recipient’s username.
  • You’ll see the recipient’s avatar before you confirm — use it to avoid typo’d usernames.
  • Received a gift? Re-log (leave and rejoin the experience) to claim it.

Why the restrictions exist

The developers were explicit about their design goal: trading exists so players can collect from past events and try new units, but Trade Locks and Trust are there to stop the game becoming “ALL about trading”. Expect the rules above to stay stable rather than loosen over time.

Trading safety rules

  • A trade is final — Trade Lock means you cannot re-trade a mistake away.
  • Higher-trust does not mean safer: a Rare for a Secret “deal” from a stranger is still a judgment call. Check serials and exact unit names before confirming.
  • Scams that predate the update (fake “middlemen”, off-platform deals, phishing links) apply to trading too — all legitimate trades happen in-game.

What’s next

The same update ran 2x Purge Coins for its launch weekend, and the developers teased Raids for the following week — check the updates page for what shipped since.
